southern california summer

to sum up a couple weeks summer break in souther california,
it's always a nice time to be home.
i forget how much i miss the sunshine and easy living.
pretty much, a lot of food and a lot of lounging, nothing beats it!

here is the epic tale of girlfriends

1. the first week home for summer break was mainly spent with my family. remembering a death of a cousin and embracing every precious moment we could all spend together. my mom and i dug through old family albums and reminisced about my amazing childhood. we found these old polaroids, it's amazing that i can remember each detail of those photos.

2. it's almost becoming a tradition we go to all-you-can-eat korean bbq every time i'm down in orange county with jess and the gang. it's quite amazing and only $9! we always follow dinner by getting frostbites, my favorite!

3. jessica and i discovered our nails matched, but were the opposite! this gave us such a kick..

4. later in the week on a trip to rite aid for some ice cream, sheila, jess, and i stocked up on some fun summer nail polish, so our matching nails soon disappeared.

5. this was the day we decided to test out jess' deep fryer and make churros. first off, jess didn't have measuring cups so we had to eyeball everything, resulting in an not so appetizing dough. let's just say the whole thing was an epic fail so we ate mac and cheese instead..

6. all i can say is, i forgot how convenient and amazing drive-thrus are! after the failed churros and mac and cheese shared by three, we were definitely still hungry by dinner. we soon realized that it was $.99 wing and thigh at popeyes! rushing to get there before closing we circled into the drive thru, after being let through by another nice driver. as we sat there waiting and discussing how odd it was that a taxi was in front of us. debating over whether he was buying for himself or a passenger it was our turn to pick up our food at the window. as jess was about to pay, the cashier told us that the taxi driver paid for us! we were completely in shock by the uncommonly kind gesture. we were so sudden by our free meal we just wanted to chase him down to thank him, but it was successful. but THANK YOU TAXI DRIVER FOR OUR FREE POPEYES, you made our night!
(p.s. this is a screenshot of what jess came home to. yes, we looked up popeyes online.. shameful i know)

7. we later tried to test our luck at another drive-thru later that week at in-n-out but it was unsuccessful. instead they over charged us and doubled our order.. but you can't complain about too much in-n-out!

8. growing up as a beach baby, i miss the beach living in san francisco. so summer beach time is a must. the water was even warm, however i forgot locals don't think 72 degrees is hot like me.. i'm becoming a true san franciscan i suppose

9. this + girlfriends + one shared brownie = the most epic time ever. pretty much sums up the perfect last days of summer with girlfriends. for some reason whenever jess, sheila, and i get together it's always an epic adventure.. resulting into "peeping jess".
